Key papers in follicular and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

A curated reading list of 42 papers on germinal center B-cell lymphomas, grouped into four themes. Each entry links to PubMed and the publisher, with a two-sentence summary written from the paper's abstract.

Not medical advice. These are short, plain-English summaries of published research, written for education. They are not treatment recommendations. Questions about an individual situation belong with a hematologist or oncologist.

Selected papers added to PubMed in the last two months. This list is refreshed monthly from a PubMed search of clinical trials, reviews and major journals, and each summary is checked by hand before it appears here.

  1. A multicenter phase II study of glofitamab plus polatuzumab-R-CHP for patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

Crombie JL, Redd R, et al. Blood. 6 Oct 2026.

This phase 2 trial added the bispecific antibody glofitamab to pola-R-CHP for 41 patients with newly diagnosed higher-risk DLBCL. The best complete response rate was 95%, and cytokine release syndrome occurred in 10% of patients, all grade 1.

  2. Patterns of care, outcomes, and prognostics for transformed follicular lymphoma in the rituximab era

Day JR, Larson MC, et al. Haematologica. 24 Sep 2026.

In 344 patients with biopsy-confirmed transformation of follicular lymphoma diagnosed between 2002 and 2022 in a US real-world consortium, median event-free survival from transformation was 9 months and median overall survival 4.9 years. Relapse after transformation occurred in 60% of patients, and several clinical factors were associated with outcome.

  3. A single-cell atlas of large B cell lymphomas reveals distinct malignant archetypes predictive of clinical outcomes

Baaklini S, Sarrabay A, et al. Blood. 17 Sep 2026.

Single-cell RNA, B-cell receptor and T-cell receptor sequencing of 63 large B-cell lymphomas identified five transcriptional archetypes of malignant B cells that co-occur within tumors. A high share of a memory-like, quiescent archetype was associated with worse event-free survival after standard immunochemotherapy, a finding replicated in independent cohorts.

  4. LymphGen-Sig: Integrating Genetic and Transcriptional States to Predict Therapeutic Response in Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

    Tumuluru S, Cooper A, et al. J Clin Oncol. 9 Sep 2026.

The authors built LGsig, a 294-gene expression classifier that assigns every DLBCL to a LymphGen genetic subtype, including cases the genetic tool leaves unclassified. Applied to samples from the POLARIX trial, it identified subtypes in which pola-R-CHP showed a survival benefit over R-CHOP.

  5. Epcoritamab with rituximab and lenalidomide as first-line treatment for follicular lymphoma (EPCORE NHL-2): an open-label, multicentre, phase 1/2 b trial

Falchi L, Vermaat JSP, et al. Lancet Haematol. 2026.

In this phase 1b/2 cohort, 41 patients with previously untreated FL received epcoritamab with rituximab and lenalidomide. The overall response rate was 95% at about three years of follow-up, with serious adverse events in 71% of patients, including three treatment-related deaths.

How papers are chosen

Public sources, checked citations

Papers are selected from PubMed, weighted toward the last five years, major journals, reviews and landmark trials. Every title, author list, journal, year and DOI on these pages was checked against the PubMed record. Summaries describe what each paper reports, not what anyone should do.
